PIRIOU INGENIERIE, PIRIOU's Concarneau subsidiary responsible for the group's engineering (design studies, purchasing, administration, etc), has just won a contract from the private Vietnamese shipyard BAO TIN for the design studies for a "Multipurpose oil recovery vessel", a 53-metre long 12-metre beam ship specialised in the recovery of hydrocarbons from the sea, the transport of liquid and solid cargo, and which can also act as a push tow tug.

The entire Study and Development phase carried out by PIRIOU INGENIERIE will continue throughout 2010 and BAO TIN will then embark upon the construction of the first unit for NASOS, a subsidiary of VIETNAM's national oil company PETROVIETNAM.

This contract strengthens PIRIOU's ties with the Vietnamese industrial naval sector and optimises the development of its local shipyard, SOUTH EAST ASIA SHIPYARD (SEAS).

Moreover, PIRIOU has increased its presence in the offshore oil sector, which is still very buoyant, particularly in Asia, a region where its potential for development is very significant.
